Myrmidon vs. Myrmidon

Finally, after a long time of nearly no kills, misson-runners begin to shot again and it's ganking time!
In this perticular case, it was a Myrmidon that imidiately shot my poor little Vigil. Not only shot, killed!
His guns seemed pretty good and my Vigil melted in seconds and i couldnt manage to warp out.
This means war.
I got back to station to grab my shiney new Myrmidon, now with improved dual-reppin' and dual-cap-boostin' action.

And what luck: He was still there.
He didnt really hurt me, my dual-repair was working perfect and as i came into neut-range, he was basicly doomed.
So i decided to give it a go for some ransom to pay my expensive eve hobbies.
As we agreed on 30mil (thats the pricetag of a basic fitted Myrmidon) he payed me 3 million.
i gave him another 3 seconds and than started to engage my drones again.

One thing about drones: They are the shit because you can carefully dissect your dying opponent.
And so i did, until 1 pixel of structure was left. LOLs in fleet.
He payed.
BETRAYAL!
I engaged again.
Boom.

One Myrmidon down and one really confused looking capsule floating near it.

He took it with the right attitude and learned his lessons. Don't shot ninjas. Fun things will happen.

Ninjas vs. Macro Miners

Sometimes EVE is just amazing in a horribly wrong way.
You see, mining is always a mixed bag.You get some nice ISK for doing basicly nothing, but it's boring as hell.
So there's this thing called: Macro Mining. It's just letting a computer mine for you, that's the single most boring thing you can "do". And trust me, even mining has it's benefits. The hum of the mining striper, the slow orbitting and the lightshow...it's all kinda "zen"-like and really calming.

But we ninjas got inner peace already, so let's move on to the fun stuff!

Cam Clarke, a fellow ninja, found a group of macrominers in a belt. Nothing special on that! But their pick-up-Orca has gone boom and the mining barges were happily (and stupidly) mining away into jetcans without anybody picking up the ore.
Since our job is to keep the spacelanes clear of junk, Cam called some of us in to help confiscating the ore floating around.

Ice, ice baby! we hauled and hauled and sold it all. Free money is always welcome, if it serves a good purpose it's even better!
Another good purpose served here is that our guy "waagstrom" decided to teach those macros a lesson: he suicide-ganked the pod of the orca pilot. Lovely!

I decided to flip to some ore, ya know, for some change.
Flipped like 14k of ore and put it into my can.
to my suprise, the retriever warped out and didn't come back, so i grabbed my hauler and wanted to get the ore.
as i was in warp i noticed a red in local. shit, he took the bait? and i was in a hauler, warping to him...
i expected a fail there.
what i found was a lonely punisher! he also wasn't the guy i flipped from, it was another canflipper. i landed, grabbed the ore and went for it.
he didnt make a move! lovely! he could have had me, easy.

i unloaded the ore, grabbed the Wing Of Doom (my gank Myrmidon) and undocked to see if i could get an easy kill.
And yes, the punisher was still there, hanging around. Scramble, neut, launch drones, boom.
That was quick. No trouble, only a Hyperion warping in to watch the fun i guess.

I gave the guy some exotic dancers as a gift, cause i had a guilty feeling.

Lesson 1:

Yes, today i was stupid. I lost lots of millions of isk buying the wrong stuff and also getting scammed.
A clear case of me-fail. I always thought i'd never fall for the 2 additional zeroes, but i did.
Anyway, i lost a lot of isk and i was angry as hell. Not that isk is that important, but you kinda need that stuff to get shiny ships and exotic dancers (1123 and counting).
This is lesson 1 for today: Count your zeros.

Also, i discovered that well-know corpse-collector Velocity Prime has my corpse in the bargain bin. Metagaming at it's best. I had to laugh really hard, i just love those kinda things.

What a day...

Lesson 2:

There i was, angry, broke and ready to give my Helios one last spin and undocked to scan for some clueless missionrunners.
And what i found was far more than clueless: A newbie.
Here's how i went...

I scanned down a little Ferox, doing his business. Missioning. Click, pew, click, pew.
That must be SO boring! So i decided to spice things up a little. First i salvaged some stuff, not touching the loot.
A minute later i took some loot from his wrecks, just to piss him off. And to add audacity to insult, i immediately targetted him as i went red.

Pew. He shot me in his poorly shield-tanked Ferox and didnt even scratch my little vigil. What a poor shot.
I bookmarked a wreck and went back for the Wing Of Doom (a neut Myrmidon with drones), praying that he will be so noobish to stay in his mission.
He did. Bet on stupid, won.

As i warped in i noticed he moved 16km from the can! Crap! My point was not in range, so i overloaded my afterburners and approached him. He sat still and launched his drones and began to pew me a bit, not hard, but so much that i even needed to activate my repair and resistance modules. That sir "Bobba99", was your first big mistake. And i mean BIG.
I reached point range, scrambled him and this moment the usual Suddenly Ninja Overkill Remote Repair Fleet (now called SNORR) arrived and started giving me some armor repairing hugs. Thanks y'all! Not really needed, but it's an assuring feeling when you got +10 drones flying around repping you. I felt like the master of fucking bees!

The Ferox went down pretty quick as soon as he was neuted. I even though of ransoming him, but that would't make that a good educational measurement, right?

I tried to reach Bobba99 and he really had no clue what happend to him. He didn't get aggro mechanics and was totally unprepared... To sad, i felt pity for half a split-second. I guess he never had a fight, ever.

So, Bobba, what did we learn?
1) Don't shot ninj... oh no wait! Do shot ninjas!
2) It's a bad idea to shot little ships, close to you with big guns. It just tickles.
3) If you shot someone and he leaves, be prepared for him to come back.
4) if 3 doesn't work for you, do what i do in case of doubt: get the fuck outta here.
5) If someone is attacking you and you're not in his point range, check point 3. if you're in doubt, apply 4. quick.
6) don't threaten pilots when you know you got absolutely no chance of succeding. (ya know)

And yes, i also wrote these rules down for myself. I'm by far not a skilled pilot!

End of lesson 1 & 2, class dismissed. Bobba, you and i gonna stay and work on your anger management problem and your triggerhappy finger.

As we know, you can log off during a fight.
Your ship will than warp of in a random direction and stay online for 15min. So even you think you're offline, you're not.
If, in our case, the agressed ship is a very sudden ninja, prepare for some heavy ninja-fleet-action, including awesome ID scanning abilities and a total overkill of RR units.

What follows is a three-step-screenshot-event what happend as we approached the clueless, offline Hurricane.
It didn't move an inch, the guy seriously ragelogged and didnt come back.

Roughly 15min for scanning a whole system and pewing down a Hurricane.

In real-life im a really nice and generous person.
Seriously. Just trust me there for a minute.

Normally i don't think much of putting real-life ideals into a game. I mean, a videogame is supposed to distracted me from real-life, right? So most of the times in EVE, i'm a total jerk.
But still, even when i pew someone to death, i always offer him some exotic dancers afterwards.
To the point: Even if you don't want to put your real character into a game, it happens.

And this is whats happening:

Yes. Ill buy a bunch of frigs, get some old destroyers dusted off and get other old stuff off my shelfs, cause i've been a terrible (i mean that) ship-collector and give them out for FREE!
Surely, some of you don't need another cheap frigate or destroyer. But others, new players and suicide gankers, love them!

Before this happens, I'm also asking you to donate any old stuff you can spare, if you're an experienced player.
Anything flyable will do. Preferably fitted, but not a must. Yes, we're going to start a recycling program here!
ISK is, of course, always welcome.
When i get it all together, we're gonna make a huge party down in Dodixie with free ships, repair-drones-lightshow a bit of showing off ships and of course.... exotic dancers and spiced wine.

In corpchat Set Shwayo mentioned that he's got a dominix pointed about 4 jumps away.
Surely i grabbed my neut myrmidon and warped there. suprises he was still there. With his mighty orgeIs and an active tank that went suprisingly quick under the fire of my medium drones and Set's rifter.
Boom. There he goes.
Nice!

Until now this was a standard-gank. Pretty boring as well.
But as i left Set's contacted me and Phaedra again, stating the following:
"he returned".
seriously...this guy must be drunk or something.

So i went back and we caught him in his myrm. Phaedra also got a nice hurricane out to do some damage, which worked well.
Until he warped of! WTF!!! He got t2 stabs... he escaped!
Suprise again!

Even more suprising when, seconds later, Set Shwayo got him pointed at the station!
Epic catch-up! We warped to him and made mincemeat out of his Myrmidon.

Congrats to Phaedra Morrpheous for his first real kill and to Set for this epic pointing action.

No exotic dancers were harmed in this gank.

Another hit on my scanners in Agrallarier... A Dominix! Again. The workhorse of the basic missionrunner.

As i warped in with my trusty vigil, that lasted a whole week now (!), i noticed that this is a level 2 or 3 mission.
Only 4 industrials and some rats. I quickly yoinked the industrials empty, looking for a mission objective. no luck, just drugs.
i mean seriously, drugs. Nice to have, but in EVE they are worth shit.

So i decided so have another go and warp in again... i painted a few targets for him and than: PEW.
He shot me! A poor ninja posing no threat!
Well...that last thing we gonna change.

I had to go to Dodi to get my Myrmidon, hoping the missionbear will still be there when i get there.
On the way i informed my corp buddies and one hell-of-a-ninja-guy, whos name i forgot (shame on me!! i shall call him "the nameless ninja" for now), offered some RR.

Warped in. Score! Landed 4km in front of him, he didnt move an inch!
Engage scramble, engage Hammerhead IIs (sadly no ogre IIs yet), and neuted his ass while "the nameless ninja" provided some RR of my drones. I didn't notice at first, but the rat was killing the missionrunner too and since "the nameless ninja" gave my medium drones some heavy remote-repair-hugging, no drone got hurt.
First i didn't realize he was actually shoting my drones, but "the nameless ninja" cleared that up later on.

Sloooowly the Domi went down... i mean really slow. I wish i had some more firepower on hand.
But hey, the rat is still doing damage too. Nice!

Anyway, he went down with no tears and nothing. Just a big boom, as soon as another ninja popped up that could witness the fireworks.

The Dominix was fitted very cheap with no rigs and he told me it's insured. So he lost nothing.
Bears...useless at fighting, but brilliant accountants.

It's basicly a fun event. One of those that make you realize how open EVE is...
Thanks to my corpmate Azi' i got into a fleet of guys that wanted to hunt some lazy miners.

Hey, and don't get me wrong. I was and am still a miner at heart, but just sitting in a belt collecting ore gets boring. It's like doing missions, sometime you just want those OMGWTF-moments in a game. And if you only rely on NPCs and CPP storylines, there're no real suprises. Damn, i was SO stoked the first ninja showed up in one of my missions...

So, as a matter of education, we gathered to assault a Mackinaw. Some Catalyst destroyers, a Brutix and...behold...a
VELATOR!!OF DOOM!
Velators are such great ships. Love em. Let me tell you why:
1. FREE
2. FREE wtf!
3. can carry 2x hobgoblin t2s that kick serious ass (as long as you stay alive!)
4. looks funky! seriously, look up close. weird but great. (props to the CCP designers, love ya guys)
5. can carry exotic dancers
6. 2x t2 blasters. like real weapons, i mean you could hurt someone with that if you're not careful!

Sadly, i brought my Catalyst, which i decided had to go cause i dont really use it. Either i use a cheap-ass frigate or my precious Myrmidon. Nope, no Battleships yet. There's a slight skill/money/noobism-issue.

After a fail-fleet-warp-suicide-gank we waited a few minutes...eager to get blown up / blow stuff up.
We warped, i locked my catalysts weapons, fired... 2 cycles plus drones launched. Pewpew... Than my friends warped in: Concord!
I went down, as did most of us, but... one lazy unprepared miner gone! YEHA!

Summary: I lost like 2 million (killpost will follow...maybe), my sec status is now below zero and i'm a serious asshole, pewing harmless miners. Let's do that again!

PS: Plan for next Hulkageddon: a) a fleet of velators. of doom. b) kill miners with a mining ship

Epic Beltrat Loot: Mining pays!

It's been a while ago, but i definitely wanted to share that one with you.

Sometimes, when im at work, i tend to get my miner out. *shrugs*
Yes. I was a miner. And sometimes when i see some juicy rocks, it overcomes me.
That was one of those days. I undocked my Golden Retriever (including 2 hobgoblin t2 drones) and went for the scrodite belt of Piekura (my old home). I worked, photoshopped, and sometimes switched to another asteroid and checked for rats.
But the trusty t2 gobs did a good job and killed some rats.
Normally i don't really go for the loot of a beltrat, especially if my drone killed it. Ewww...
But this time... i did. Lucky me.

What i found was a t2 implant with a market estimate of about 180 million isk!

WTFROFLCOPTER?!
I even yelled something out in my office. something about "fuck yeah i found 180 million in a rat!". My coworker finally thinks i'm mad.

first i thought it was one of mine or something i just forgot about, but NO! It was... IN the loot!

Instincts kicked in. Must warp. QUICK.
Aligned my Golden Retriever, bombed the warp button and finally...after an eternity: warp!

Sold, got 170.000.000 isk for it. Wow. Mining pays.

I still got something of that money today and i never exided that accountbalace again. It's all been spent on exotic dancers and internetspaceships.

So what did we learn?
1. Shot every rat!
2. Check every wreck for loot, get a fucking cargo scanner!
3. Love your drones.
4. There is no "boring" job in EVE.
5. Don't play EVE at work! (no seriously, i'm trying to stop that too.)

So i looted this mission... lots of wrecks, nothing special. An not bears in sight to annoy. He just left, so i decided i can as well stay and salvage everything.
We all need to pay our exotic dancers right?

Than it hit me: The bear forgot to take the militants, which are mission objectives.
Well, he (or she in that case) seems to be an experienced creature, knowing you can buy militants via contract for as little as 100k ISK.

But as some great ninja once said: Always bet on stupid.
So i did.

I put em up on personal contract, 3 million ISK and have a go. I also added a small note, because the players name was a reference to a really bad german rockband and i could splice in some lyricals reference. rough translation would be "only the best die young...obviously, without militants!"

30min later, flashy wallety! 3 million. Nice!
Next time i'm gonna aim higher, that's for sure.
